ezHTMLarea Help

I hope you will enjoy ezHTMLarear. Start experimenting with all the buttons (see below). You can even start by copying parts of a web page. Even better, use my ready made templates (). Click on the preview button and see the results. Note that the preview page is not your actual page but just a window to visualise your page. When you're happy with your it, click on the save button . Use the Open button to make changes in another session. See Enabling ActiveX Controls in order to use the Open/Save functions.

Note: I am still trying to find a way to add color and a picture for the background. Meanwhile, you can try to do the following:

When viewing your SAVED file, go to View / Source and replace "WHITE" by a Hex value. You can choose a Hex value from the Web-Safe Colour Picker :

As for an image in the background, replace "PICTURE" by the URL of a picture:

• here's how to find the URL of a picture on the internet:
Right-click on a picture / Properties / triple-click on the address (URL) / Ctrl-C / Ctrl-V to paste it;

• I have also inserted some instructions in the codes of your page (Edit / View in Explorer).

Buttons

	New document. This will empty the content of ezHTMLarea.
	Press on this button to choose from templates
	Open files from your local disk. See Enabling ActiveX Controls.
	Save your work on your computer. See Enabling ActiveX Controls.
	FTP applet allowing you to upload your files to your server
	Open an existing Word document from your local disk and inserts the contents in the editor
	Print your document
	Preview your document in a new window.
	Use these icons to format your text:

	View HTML codes. You can make some changes to the codes.
	Work in full screen mode (maximize)

	Cut. You can select text and pictures and place them somewhere else by draging them.
	Copy. You can copy images, text and links from web pages by using the right-click.
	Paste
	Delete what was selected
	Remove format in selected text
	Undo (you must click twice)
	Redo (you must click twice)
	Search and Replace
	Change selected text to lower or upper case
	Link. You can select some text before clicking on this icon. Note: URLs and e-mail will automaticaly be changed into links when typed in followed by Enter. example: http://www.yahoo.com and me@yahoo.com
	Remove link. Click on the text where the link is and click on the icon.
	Insert an anchor at the selected point
	Insert picture. You can use the right-click menu to copy/paste pictures from other pages. Note: You can resize the pictures with the little squares.
	Select multiple objects using Shift or Ctrl
	Select pictures, lines, tables to see live resizing
	Insert a list with numbers
	Insert a list with bullets
	Remove the indent for the selected paragraph
	Indent the selected content
	Insert a table
	Show 0 borders. Use this function before saving a page with zero border tables. You may even get better results by clicking on the "View HTML Source" before saving.
	Table properties. Place the cursor in the table first. You may want to try the right-click within a table.

Enabling ActiveX Controls:

1.- On your browser's toolbar, click on Tools/Internet Options and select the tab labeled as Security.
2.- Select the green icon that reads Trusted Sites and click on the Sites button.
3.- At the prompt of the following window, write http://fslactivities.ca in the box labeled as Add this Web site to the zone and click on Add.
4.- Un-check the box that reads Require server verification (https://) for web sites in this zone and click OK.
5.- Now, click on the button labeled as Custom Level and, from the next window enable the 5 ActiveX settings.

Note: Some antiviruses might prevent ActiveX controls to run.
